The building @ 508 Frenchmen st. is over 100 years old. We are working on gathering a complete history of it. In recent times it has housed several live music venues. In the 90's it was known as The Fauborg Center, and regularly featured punk rock shows and raves. After that it was Ray's Boom Boom Room, and most recently La Maison de la Musique.

When the current owners took over the business recently, the name La Maison de la Musique, which just might be the worst name in the history of live music venues, was shortened to just The Maison. In hindsight, it probably should have been changed to something completely different to sever all ties to the poorly run Musique, but hindsight is 20/20.

Anyway, we hope to add the best chapter yet to the grand history of this building and to Frenchmen st. itself.
